This qualification reflects the role of an enrolled nurse working under supervision of a registered nurse. Enrolled Nurses can work in all areas of hospital-based care, primary health care settings, aged care facilities, operating theatres, community nursing sector, mental health, and a broad range of other settings. The course is conducted in 8 terms, each comprising 10 weeks, inclusive of holidays. The course requires 400 hours (10 weeks) of mandatory Placement Experience, in four separate blocks. Fieldwork Placements are a requirement of the AHPRA registration process. We find these placements for you, as they are fully supervised, and require several competencies to be achieved at each placement.

Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery. Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters. Our Certificate IV in Ageing Support course is suitable for those seeking to work in, working in, or who have studied in the Aged Care sector; as well as people with care or community service experience looking to advance their skills. This qualification addresses work primarily in residential facilities, or homes within defined organisation guidelines and service plans.

The worker is required to conduct therapeutic and program related activities under the guidance of an allied health professional. Supervision may be direct, indirect or remote and must occur within organisation requirements. The worker is required to identify client circumstances that need additional input from the allied health professional. The worker may be engaged to work in a specialty area or work generically across the organisation in delivery of allied health assistance services. To receive this qualification, you must complete 16 units: 8 core and 8 electives. The course is conducted in 8 terms, each comprising 10 weeks, exclusive of holidays. You will attend college 20 hours per week. Fieldwork Placement: Fieldwork Placements are a requirement of the Australian Community Workers Association (ACWA) to provide students the opportunity to link theory with practice. The Diploma of Community Services requires 400 hours of supervised Fieldwork Placement.
